On Day 1, embark on a journey through the heart of Zagreb, discovering the vibrant legacy of Croatia’s capital. Start your day at Ban Jelačić Square, one of Southeast Europe’s most picturesque city squares, where the city’s rich history unfolds before your eyes. Stroll through the charming districts of Kaptol and Gradec, the historical nuclei that now make up modern Zagreb.

Visit the iconic Zagreb Cathedral, Croatia’s tallest building, and soak in the atmosphere of the bustling Dolac Market, a true taste of local life. Walk along the ancient walls of Kaptol, then ascend to the Upper Town, where breathtaking views of the city await. Continue your exploration with a leisurely walk down Tkalčićeva Street, once the dividing line between two medieval cities.

Along the way, pass through a hidden WWII tunnel and hop aboard the famous funicular for a scenic ride up the hill. At Lotrščak Tower, feel the excitement as the noon cannon fires. Wander along the Strossmeier Promenade, often considered the most romantic spot in the city, and marvel at the 17th-century Baroque beauty of St. Catherine’s Church. Your tour ends with a visit to Zagreb’s hallmark, the beautifully tiled St. Mark’s Church, followed by a stroll through the Stone Gate (Porta di Pietra) into the vibrant Main Square area.
