Day 2: Subotica Toggle

Exploring Subotica and Palić Lake

After breakfast, we’ll head north to explore the beautiful city of Subotica. Known for its Art Nouveau architecture, the city is a treasure trove of stunning buildings and intricate designs. We’ll stroll through the city center, soaking in the colorful mosaics and historic charm. Next, we’ll visit Palić Lake, where we’ll relax and take in the scenic views from the Grand Terrace, Ladies’ Strand, and Water Tower.

The day continues with a visit to a traditional manor in Subotica’s countryside, where you’ll enjoy a delicious Serbian meal. Surrounded by picturesque lakes, Subotica Sands is the region’s wine-making hub. We’ll visit a renowned winery, where you’ll savor unique “wines from sands” that can only be found in this area. After a day of culture, history, and incredible flavors, we’ll return to the hotel where you will have some time to relax.

We’ll dive into the rich history and culture surrounding the stunning Fruška Gora region. Our journey begins with Novi Sad, Serbia’s second-largest city, where you’ll be immersed in the diverse cultural influences left by various nations throughout the centuries. As we explore, the city’s vibrant history will unfold, revealing a blend of architectural styles, from Baroque to modernist.

Next, we’ll head to the iconic Petrovaradin Fortress, towering over the Danube River. Known as the “Gibraltar on the Danube,” this massive fortification offers breathtaking views and fascinating stories from centuries of military history. Afterward, we’ll continue down the Danube to the charming town of Sremski Karlovci, a true gem of Serbia’s 18th-century cultural legacy. Here, the old-world charm will captivate you, and we’ll finish the day with a wine tasting of the finest Fruska Gora wines. These legendary wines, steeped in centuries of tradition, are still served at Europe’s most prestigious royal courts. After a day rich in history, culture, and exceptional wine, we’ll return to the hotel to unwind.

After check-out, we’ll head to the heart of Serbia’s rich Medieval past. Our first stop is the charming Trišić Winery, a family-run estate where you’ll indulge in a delightful wine and food pairing, immersing yourself in the flavors that have been perfected over generations. Continuing towards Vrnjačka Spa, we’ll visit the awe-inspiring Žiča Monastery, famously known as the “Church of Seven Kings.” As we explore its peaceful grounds, you’ll be transported back to the time of Serbia’s medieval rulers, learning about their legacy in this sacred setting. After a day filled with history and culture, we’ll check in to our hotel and relax, recharged for the adventures ahead.

The Ancient Vines of Župa

Today, we’ll immerse ourselves in the rich history of Župa, one of the oldest wine regions in Europe, renowned for its indigenous grape varieties like Vranac and Prokupac. These unique wines, crafted from centuries-old recipes, tell the story of a region that has been perfecting its wine-making craft for generations. Our journey takes us to the Ivanović Winery, where you’ll experience these extraordinary wines firsthand while learning about the centuries of tradition and the deep cultural significance of winemaking in this region. After indulging in the flavors of Župa, the afternoon is yours to relax and rejuvenate, with plenty of time to unwind in the luxurious spa and wellness facilities at the hotel.

Day 6: Topola & Belgrade Toggle
Topola & Belgrade

Oplenac Heritage and the Capital City

We begin the day with a scenic journey to Topola, the first Serbian capital following the Liberation Era, nestled in the beautiful Oplenac region, often referred to as “Serbian Tuscany.” This picturesque area is known for its historic charm and exceptional wines. We’ll visit one of Southeast Europe’s most prestigious wine cellars, where you’ll savor a one-of-a-kind wine and food pairing experience, showcasing the region’s best offerings. Explore the fascinating Karađorđević Royal Mausoleum and the historic Rebels Town, which holds great significance in Serbia’s path to independence.

Continuing toward Belgrade, we will introduce you to the dynamic capital with a panoramic ride through its vibrant city center. A leisurely stroll along Knez Mihailova pedestrian street will take us to the oldest tavern in the city. From there, we’ll make our way between the stunning Orthodox Cathedral and Patriarch’s Court, culminating at the remarkable Belgrade Fortress, offering sweeping views and a glimpse into the city’s rich history.
